A large student turnout for sports activities at the Sheikh Zayed Summer Festival
ABU DHABI, 16 JULY / WAM / The activities of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, in the “City of Sports and Vitality”, at the Sheikh Zayed Summer Festival 2026, which continues in Al Wathba until next August, have achieved remarkable success and great turnout from different age stages, males and females.
The activities supervised by the Council, namely chess, racket games, electronic archery, bow and arrow, football, judo, jiu-jitsu, basketball, table tennis, yoga classes for women, and winter games, received great appreciation from the students’ parents, due to their role in promoting the culture of physical activity.
Saeed Al Muhairi, Director of the Community Sports Department at the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, said that the festival represents an integrated platform for raising awareness of the importance of sports, thanks to the advanced infrastructure, modern facilities, and the stimulating atmosphere to give students the opportunity to practice sports, hone their abilities, and learn about specific and Olympic sports, indicating the keenness to provide the best conditions to achieve the goals of the festival in the summer period, and to provide motivating initiatives for participants of different age groups.
Al Muhairi stressed that the great efforts made by the participating clubs and partners have a significant impact in achieving the best desired results, in a safe, comfortable and stimulating environment that combines sports, entertainment and skills development, developing the capabilities of participants from all categories and developing and developing their skills.
