المملكة: Guests of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques program visit the Kaaba Covering Industry Complex
The first batch of guests visited The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Program for Umrah and Visit, implemented by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance for the current year 1448 AH, King Abdulaziz Industrial Complex The Covering of the Holy Kaaba in Mecca.
This comes within the cultural and cognitive program prepared by the Ministry to enrich the guests’ experience and introduce them to the care that the Kingdom gives to the Holy Kaaba and its covering.
Stages of Kiswa Making
During the tour, the guests were briefed on the successive stages of making the Covering of the Holy Kaaba, starting with the preparation and dyeing of natural silk threads, through to the weaving and embroidery processes. And weaving, ending with the final assembly of the kiswa. They learned about the materials used in its manufacture, and saw the work carried out by specialized national cadres according to the highest standards of accuracy and mastery.
The visit included getting to know the technical and production departments of the complex, listening to an explanation of the techniques used in making the kiswah, in addition to participating in a symbolic experience of weaving part of the kiswah of the Holy Kaaba, in an experience that reflected the care and attention this industry receives.
Enriching the experience Guests
This visit is organized within the accompanying cultural and cognitive program For the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques program for Umrah and visits, which aims to enrich the guests’ experience and introduce them to the projects and services provided by the Kingdom to the Two Holy Mosques and their visitors.
The first batch of the program includes 250 male and female Umrah pilgrims from 16 Asian countries, namely: Indonesia, East Timor, the Philippines, Malaysia, Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam, Myanmar, and Laos. Singapore, China, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Mongolia.
