A new disaster in China.. A landslide results in 8 deaths and 34 missing
Footage broadcast on state television showed large quantities of rocks and dust that covered a residential and commercial area located at the foot of a mountain. Chinese President Xi Jinping directed that comprehensive searches be conducted, in addition to opening an investigation to determine the causes. The accident, while the government announced the allocation of 50 million yuan to support rescue efforts and help those affected. The accident comes less than two weeks after another landslide in Gansu Province, northwest China, killing 21 people.
