27 bodies recovered after a ferry sank off the coast of Guyana

The Government of Guyana announced the recovery of 27 bodies from A ferrycapsized off the coast at the weekend, with 179 people on board.

The ferry (Parima) was on its way from the capital, Georgetown, to the village of Port Kaituma in the northwest of the country located on the northern coast of South America when it capsized.

The authorities announced in Giana69 people were rescued after an old ferry sank late Saturday night, carrying more than 100 passengers in addition to its crew members, off the coast of the country located in South America overlooking The Atlantic Ocean, while 83 others are still missing.

Guyana’s Minister of Public Utilities and Aviation, Deodat Indar, stated that the ?ship ?was found at the bottom of the sea by ?yesterday afternoon during search operations.
