"Civil Aviation Authority"The country’s national aircraft registry exceeds one thousand aircraft for the first time in its history

Abu Dhabi, July 22 / WAM / The General Civil Aviation Authority announced the registration of aircraft No. (1001) in the National Aircraft Register, in a historic achievement that reflects the continuous growth witnessed by the civil aviation sector in the UAE, and confirms the advanced position that the country has established as one of the most prominent civil aviation centers at the regional and international levels.

The fleets of national carriers include 554 aircraft out of the total aircraft registered in the country, representing more than 55% of the size of the national aircraft registry, and reflects the strength of the UAE air transport sector and the pivotal role that national carriers play in linking the country to various global markets.

His Excellency Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, Director General of the General Authority of Civil Aviation, said on this occasion that the National Aircraft Register’s crossing of the 1,000 aircraft mark represents an important milestone in the journey of the civil aviation sector in the UAE, and reflects the growing confidence enjoyed by the country’s regulatory system among airline companies and aircraft owners and operators. It also confirms the success of national policies in providing an advanced regulatory environment that supports the sustainable growth of the sector and enhances its competitiveness at the international level.

He added that this achievement is an extension of the development and growth process witnessed by the civil aviation system in the country, which is based on the vision of the wise leadership to consolidate the UAE’s position in the international civil aviation sector, through investment in the legislative and supervisory structure, and the development of smart services, to keep pace with the rapid growth of the sector and meet the requirements of the future.

For his part, Engineer Aqeel Al Zarouni, Assistant Director General of the Aviation Safety Affairs Sector at the Authority, said that reaching more than a thousand registered aircraft reflects the efficiency of the aircraft registration system in the UAE, which is based on an advanced legislative framework and regulatory procedures compatible with international best practices, ensuring that the highest levels of safety and compliance are maintained, and keeping pace with the increasing growth in the number of registered aircraft.

He added that the Authority continues to develop aircraft registration and technical control services by adopting the latest digital solutions, simplifying procedures, and enhancing operational efficiency, ensuring the provision of flexible and reliable regulatory services that meet the needs of operators and support the continued growth of the civil aviation sector in the country.

This growth comes as the General Authority of Civil Aviation continues to develop the regulatory environment for the aviation sector, through modernizing legislation, simplifying procedures, and expanding digital services, in addition to implementing government initiatives, most notably the “Government for Business Service” program and the “Zero Government Bureaucracy” program, which contributed to raising the efficiency of services and enhancing customer experience, while maintaining the highest levels of safety and compliance with international standards.
