A US court has set a date for the start of
Prisoner of War
_Maduro had described himself as "Prisoner of war"denying the accusations against him.
Since his arrest, his former vice president, Delcy Rodriguez, has assumed the interim presidency of Venezuela, while the United States now supervises revenues from Venezuelan oil exports.
Last April, Washington also allowed Venezuela to finance the legal defense of Maduro and his wife, after that was prohibited under US sanctions.

Maduro also faces a civil lawsuit in the United States. It was filed by the families of five young men who were killed in Venezuela, accusing him of issuing orders to carry out extrajudicial killings between 2017 and 2020 through a private security force.
He also faces widespread international criticism due to accusations of using political repression during his rule between 2013 and 2026.
While several countries, including the United States, rejected the results of the elections in which he was re-elected in 2018 and 2024.
