المملكة: A Saudi-American cooperation agreement in the peaceful uses of nuclear energy – urgent

The two governments signed Saudi Arabia and United States of America Cooperation Agreement in the field of peaceful uses of nuclear energy between the two countries, within the framework of the strategic partnership that brings together the two friendly countries, in continuation of what was announced during the visit of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister – may God protect him – to the United States of America last November, regarding the completion of negotiations related to cooperation between the two countries in the field of peaceful uses of nuclear energy, and to enhance bilateral cooperation in the fields of energy and advanced technologies.
The agreement signed by His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Energy and Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, with US Secretary of Energy Chris Wright, to enhance cooperation between the two countries in the field of peaceful uses of nuclear energy, and to support the exchange of experiences, knowledge and technologies, which contributes to developing joint cooperation in accordance with the highest international standards related to nuclear security and safety and nuclear non-proliferation, and reflects the common vision of the two countries towards expanding cooperation in the fields of energy and future technologies and supporting sustainable development.

The agreement represents an extension of the existing cooperation between the two countries in the energy sector, In support of efforts to diversify energy sources, develop advanced technologies, and enhance cooperation and investment opportunities to achieve the common interests of the two friendly countries.
