"Ras Al Khaimah Economy"The rate of handling consumer complaints increased to 93% during the first half
Ras Al Khaimah, July 23 / WAM / The Ras Al Khaimah Department of Economic Development, represented by the Commercial Control and Protection Department, achieved a satisfaction rate of 93% with the mechanism for handling consumer complaints and the services provided to them, during the first half of 2026, as it received 545 complaints from consumers, in an indicator that reflects the efficiency of the consumer protection system and the speed of response to customer feedback.
The department received 17 complaints related to trademarks registered in the country during the same period, and was able to deal with them and address them in accordance with the approved legislation and procedures, achieving a satisfaction rate of 100%, which confirms the effectiveness of its efforts in protecting the rights of trademark owners and preserving intellectual property.
Faisal Abdullah Alyoun, Director of the Commercial Control and Protection Department at the Department of Economic Development in Ras Al Khaimah, confirmed that the results achieved during the first half of this year reflect the Department’s keenness to provide a fair and safe commercial environment that preserves the rights of consumers, commercial establishments, and owners of registered trademarks, and enhances the level of confidence in the local markets.
He added that achieving a satisfaction rate of 93% for handling consumer complaints, and 100% for dealing with trademark complaints, reflects the efficiency of the work teams and their commitment to providing quality services in accordance with the highest standards of quality and transparency, in addition to implementing the systems and legislation regulating economic and commercial activities.
He pointed out the department’s keenness to develop channels for submitting complaints, facilitating follow-up procedures, and enhancing awareness among consumers and merchants of their rights and obligations, stressing that protecting trademarks represents one of the basic foundations for enhancing the competitiveness of the business environment, due to its role in preserving intellectual property rights, combating infringement of registered marks, and encouraging project owners and investors to develop their businesses within a reliable and growth-stimulating economic environment.
