المملكة: For the fourth time in a row…the Kingdom is first regionally in digital government services
It maintained the (first) position for the fourth time in a row, with a very high maturity rate of (99%) in the overall evaluation of the index, an achievement that reflects the sustainability of digital government maturity in the Kingdom and its continued progress at the regional level.
Digital government system
The Governor of the Digital Government Authority, Eng. Ahmed bin Muhammad Al-Suwayyan, confirmed that the Kingdom’s topping of the general index reflects the support given by the wise leadership – may God support it – to the digital government system in developing an integrated government model that puts the beneficiary at the center of attention, enhances the competitiveness of the national economy, and raises the efficiency of government performance according to a sustainable approach.
He pointed out that this achievement reflects the extent of the efforts made by government agencies in developing procedures and platforms and adopting emerging technologies and artificial intelligence. For the Kingdom to become a global model for the efficiency of doing business and the competitiveness of the digital economy, in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
The Kingdom topped the index, which included measuring (17) countries, and was based on assessing the maturity of (100) priority government services provided to individuals and the business sector via digital platforms and smart applications, according to three sub-indicators.
It obtained a percentage of (100%) in the “Service Availability and Development” indicator, a percentage of (99%) in the “Use of the Service and User Satisfaction with it” indicator, and a percentage of (100%) in the “Access to the Public” indicator.
Continuous development
This progress reflects the continuous development witnessed by digital government services in vital sectors. In the civil services sector, digital platforms have enhanced the ease of issuing official documents, such as renewing passports, national IDs, birth registration, and others.
While the judicial services enabled beneficiaries to complete many procedures electronically with ease, and in the health sector, digital services contributed to completing health appointments remotely and facilitating access to medical services more efficiently, while digital solutions in the customs clearance sector contributed to accelerating procedures and raising the efficiency of completing transactions.
This is due to developing an advanced government digital infrastructure, enhancing the integration of services between government agencies, and raising the level of digital inclusion and ease of access for people with disabilities.
This is in addition to employing data, emerging technologies and artificial intelligence to provide more efficient, proactive and reliable services to citizens, residents and visitors, while enhancing the security of access and digital channels to ensure safe and easy-to-access government services for beneficiaries.
International indicators
This achievement comes as an extension of a series of advanced results achieved by the Kingdom in international indicators, the most recent of which was achieving second place globally in the Digital Government Maturity Index for the year (2025) issued by the World Bank Group, within an evaluation that included (197) countries.
This is in addition to choosing the city of Riyadh as the headquarters of the Global Center for Digital Government in partnership with the United Nations. To enable capabilities in research and innovation and enhance international cooperation, reflecting the Kingdom’s advanced position in the areas of digital government and the development of government services, in order to achieve sustainable development goals.
