Saqr Ghobash and Nabih Berri discuss strengthening parliamentary cooperation and fraternal relations between the UAE and Lebanon
Beirut, July 28 / WAM / His Excellency Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council, met today, in Beirut, with His Excellency Nabih Berri, Speaker of the House of Representatives of the sisterly Lebanese Republic, at the headquarters of the Lebanese Parliament.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the established fraternal relations between the United Arab Emirates and the Lebanese Republic, and ways to enhance parliamentary cooperation and exchange of experiences between the Federal National Council and the Lebanese House of Representatives in a way that serves the common interests of the two countries and the two brotherly peoples.
The two sides stressed that the Emirati-Lebanese relations are based on solid fraternal ties and a common keenness to enhance cooperation in various fields, stressing the importance of developing channels of communication and coordination between the two legislative institutions, in a way that supports the bilateral partnership and keeps pace with the aspirations of the leadership of the two countries towards consolidating stability and advancing paths of development and joint Arab cooperation.
The two sides also exchanged views on a number of issues of common interest, stressing the importance of parliamentary diplomacy in continuing to consolidate bilateral relations and supporting dialogue and cooperation, which contributes to enhancing security, stability, development and prosperity in the region.
