Saif bin Zayed witnesses the launch of the World Summit "We protect"

ABU DHABI, 5 DECEMBER WAM / Lt. General His Highness Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, witnessed the launch of the “We Protect” global summit in the capital, Abu Dhabi, jointly hosted by the Ministry of Interior and the “We Protect” global alliance – WeProtect Global Alliance.
His Highness delivered a speech at the beginning of which he welcomed the attendees to their second country, the Emirates, and conveyed to them the greetings of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him,” and his wishes for success and success for this summit.
His Highness said that we are meeting today at the “We Protect” summit, to confirm that protecting children is not just a moral duty, but rather a collective responsibility, requiring concerted joint efforts from all members of society, institutions and governments, as children are the foundation of the future, and investing in their safety and well-being is an investment in the future. More sustainable and prosperous, His Highness explained that in our current era, and with technological development, children face new and complex challenges.
His Highness added that we in the UAE, thanks to the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him,” continue to provide continuous support to global efforts to protect children in all fields.
His Highness said that today, 10 years after the establishment of the “We Protect” coalition, we confirm that through participatory work and the integration of sincere efforts, this coalition has grown to include more than 100 government organizations, more than 75 companies from the private sector, and more than 130 organizations from the private sector. Civil society organizations and intergovernmental organizations.
His Highness pointed out that, given the acceleration of challenges in the digital world, I urge all concerned parties to strengthen positive international partnerships with global technology companies more effectively, and we hope that these companies will assume greater responsibilities by finding innovative solutions and employing intelligence technologies. Artificial intelligence to create smart solutions that guarantee our children a safe digital environment that enables them to grow and develop properly.
His Highness reiterated that the role of the family will remain essential and pivotal, as it is the first bulwark for protecting children and directing them towards the positive use of technology. Therefore, we must empower families with the necessary knowledge and skills to face digital challenges and raise a conscious and responsible generation.
At the conclusion of his speech, His Highness stressed that the future of the world depends on what we offer children today, calling on His Highness to work together to enhance digital integrity and create a safe and supportive environment to build a better and safer future for children.
The opening was attended by His Excellency Ivan Kubrakov, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, His Excellency Juanito Vikor C. Remulla, Minister of the Interior and Local Government of the Republic of the Philippines, His Excellency Errol Fonesca, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Seychelles, His Excellency Milica Đorđević Stamenkovski, Minister of Family Affairs and Demography of the Republic of Serbia, His Excellency Yilmaz Tunj, Minister of Justice of the Republic of Turkey, and His Excellency Dr. Dorothy Guajima. Minister of Community Development, Social Diversity, Women’s Affairs and Special Groups of the Republic of Tanzania Federal Government, His Excellency Nawal Kishore Sah Sodi, Minister of Women, Children and Senior Citizens of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal, and executive directors of a number of major technology companies around the world.
