We participated in friendly tournaments in Europe for strong international contact for the team with Spain, the Czech Republic, Tunisia and Switzerland to gain international experience, and we obtained… Eighth place in this tournament after an absence of 10 years.
In 2023, captain Ayman Salah is preparing a plan to prepare the national team, as we participated in a friendly tournament in Egypt with Angola, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Ghana, Algeria, and Congo-Brazzaville, as preparations for the 2024 African Championship, with the goal of reaching the semi-finals and reaching the World Cup.
With Captain Abdo Abdel Wahab assuming the role of supervisor of the girls’ national teams, first place was obtained in the African Championship for girls born in 2006, and in the year In 2024, I ranked thirteenth in the World Cup for Young Women, born in 2004. The first women’s team was prepared inside the Olympic Center in Maadi in short weekly periods, and from 7/18/2024, a closed camp was prepared for the team, as there was external preparation for the team in a friendly tournament for the Czech Republic in The month of October in the Czech Republic, then we were informed not to travel to the friendly foreign tournament and to cancel our participation in the African Championship due to poor technical level. For our team.
With the correct decision of His Excellency Dr. Ashraf Sobhi (Minister of Youth and Sports) and Dr. Hassan Mostafa (President of the International Handball Federation), the team will return to participate in the African Championship, and they have a lot of respect from us. Thanks and respect.
This was an incentive for us as a technical, administrative and medical staff and players to prove ourselves and achieve the planned goal of 2022 to prove that the girls of Egypt are capable. I have to participate and compete in the African Championship even without preparation, such as the preparation for the year 2022, and thank God the desired goal has been achieved and the World Cup has been reached for the first time in the history of women.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to reaching this achievement. From the technical, medical, and administrative staff, the players, all the respected club coaches, and all the technical, administrative, and medical staff with whom I had the honor to work during… My career.
Special thanks to the unknown soldier, parents, and that this will be the end of my career with the first women’s national team. I wish them success in the next World Cup and raising Egypt’s name high for the first time in the World Cup. The world and you have all my respect and appreciation.
