The UAE will host two tournaments on the 2025 World Golf Challenge Tour

Dubai, December 10 / WAM / The World Challenge Golf Tour announced the tournament calendar for the 2025 season, which will see the UAE hosting the “Emirates Challenge” tournaments, which will be held at the Al Zorah Golf Club in Ajman during the period from next April 10 to 13, and the “Abu Dhabi Challenge”. It will be held at Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting and Golf Club during the period from the 17th to the 20th of the same month.
The UAE is hosting the two tournaments as part of the long-term partnership between the European Golf Tour, the organizer of the Challenge Tour, and the Emirates Golf Federation, as Ajman hosts this tournament for the first time, while it continues in Abu Dhabi with great success similar to previous editions in which it hosted international competitions, which is one of the distinguished stations. For the rise of promising stars on the international scene, the total prize money for each tournament amounts to 300 thousand US dollars (about 1.1 million dirhams).
The new season will be held under the title “The Road to Mallorca,” with prize money increasing to a record 9 million euros, and includes 29 tournaments in 18 different countries, with the top 20 finishers at the end of the season qualifying for the DB World Tour.
Among the most prominent stations of the new season, the start will be in South Africa for the fifth year in a row, with the holding of the SDC Open Championship at the end of next January, as part of cooperation efforts with the Sunshine Tour.
The Challenge Tour returns to India in March with two back-to-back tournaments beginning with the Kolkata Challenge, which will once again be held at the Royal Calcutta Golf Club – the oldest golf club in India and the first outside Great Britain, followed by the Delhi Challenge at the Classic Golf and Country Club.
The Challenge Tour will visit Spain in May for the 26th edition of the Challenge Tour de España, which will kick off a series of 18 tournaments over 20 weeks and travel across 14 countries in Europe.
The Italian Challenge Open returns to Golf Nazionale, the former venue of the Junior Ryder Cup, while the Swiss Challenge Championship returns to Golf Simbachersee, where it was previously held between 2010 and 2019.
The 2025 calendar also includes a host of new locations, with the Danish Challenge Championship being held at Bogens Golf Club, the Challenge Indoor Golf Championship being held at Uppsala Golf Club, while the Irish Challenge Championship and Scottish Challenge Championship will be held at Killeen Castle and Schloss Roxburgh respectively.
The Tour then returns to China for two back-to-back events in October 2025, the Hainan Open and then the Hangzhou Open, which offers the last chance to qualify for the Rolex Challenge Tour Grand Final powered by R&A.
The final tournament of the season will be held in Mallorca, Spain, from October 30 to November 2, 2025, where the top 45 ranked players will compete for one of the 20 qualifying cards to the DB World Tour that will change their professional careers.
Challenge Tour Director Jamie Hodges stressed the importance of unveiling the 2025 “Road to Mallorca” tournament calendar, which includes the largest total prize fund since the Challenge Tour was established in 1989.
