المملكة: Under the auspices of the King… organizing the 5th meeting of the heads of the Kingdom’s missions abroad

Under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud – may God protect him -, and in the presence of His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs organized the fifth general meeting of the heads of the Kingdom’s missions abroad.
It was titled “New Saudi Diplomacy: Constants and Developments in Light of Vision 2030.”

Meeting of the heads of the Kingdom’s missions abroad

The Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah, the Minister of Tourism, Mr. Ahmed bin Aqeel Al-Khatib, the Minister of Investment, Engineer Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih, and the Minister of Economy and Planning, Mr. Faisal bin Fadel Al-Ibrahim, participated in the meeting sessions.
The Minister of Information, Mr. Salman bin Youssef Al-Dosari, the President of the Human Rights Commission, Dr. Hala bint Mazyad Al-Tuwaijri, the Advisor to the Royal Court, Dr. Fahd bin Abdullah Tunisi, and His Excellency the Deputy Minister of Sports, Mr. Badr bin Abdulrahman Al-Qadi, also participated.

The meeting sessions discussed Saudi foreign policy priorities, the role of the Kingdom’s missions in achieving the Kingdom’s strategic goals, the role of missions in contributing to achieving the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, and the administrative, financial, and digital work that enables missions to improve work efficiency.

Interactive dialogues and presentations

The meeting included interactive dialogues and presentations with the aim of researching and discussing the ministry’s strategies and initiatives and exchanging visions about their implementation.
In addition to activating coordination between the Kingdom’s missions abroad and government agencies, and exchanging views on issues related to their tasks in the foreign arena in a way that serves the interest of the nation and the citizen.
This meeting is the fifth of the heads of the Kingdom’s missions abroad, as it began in the capital, Riyadh, in 1427 AH / 2006 AD and carried the slogan “Improving Diplomatic Performance.”

The role of missions

It was followed by the second meeting in 1431 AH / 2010 AD, which discussed the five-year strategic plan of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the role of missions in implementing it, and then the third meeting of heads of missions in 1435 AH / 2013 AD, which focused on reviewing work strategies and professional performance standards.
Then the fourth meeting in 1438 AH/2017 AD, which was entitled “The Ambassador’s Message.”
The sessions were attended by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Engineer Walid bin Abdulkarim Al-Khuraiji, His Excellency Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Executive Affairs, Abdul Hadi Al-Mansouri, and a number of senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
