The Ministers of Labor and Education announce the start of implementation "Common protocol" Concerning vocational training for industrial school students

Mohamed Gibran, Minister of Labor, and Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, announced today, Wednesday, the start of implementation of the cooperation protocol signed between the two ministries last September 2024, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Labor, regarding linking the outcomes of education and vocational training to the needs of the labor market, and participating in Operating and managing fixed training centers affiliated with the Ministry of Labor, in all governorates, in order to increase the number of student trainees and new graduates who wish to be trained in the professions needed by the labor market, during study periods. In this context, a number of students from industrial schools in Qena Governorate began receiving training courses in the professions of electricity, plumbing, sewing, and embroidery, in coordination between the Directorates of Labor and Education in the Governorate, and implementation procedures began. Gibran pointed out that the Ministry of Labor has an integrated vocational training system, which is fixed training centers that provide training services to young people for free, especially in the field of He reviewed the presidential initiative “A Decent Life,” as well as the “A New Beginning for Human Building” initiative. Gibran said that linking training to the needs of the labor market was a dream that is now being realized in light of the integration of the two ministries in order to achieve the graduation of a worker at a level that suits the patterns of the labor market, in line with the President’s directives. Gibran explained that the protocol includes cooperation, coordination, and benefiting from the capabilities of the two ministries in terms of expertise, vocational training centers, schools, and special classes. For his part, Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, stressed the importance of continuing to implement this protocol within the framework of the Egyptian state’s plan to develop capabilities and qualifying young people for future professions and the labor market. It also comes within the framework of expanding policies to support technical and technological education and adding more than 30 new technical schools.
The Minister of Education added that technical education represents one of the most important files that the Ministry is keen on developing. Making every effort to develop it in cooperation with various ministries and agencies, as it represents one of the most important ways to achieve sustainable development, indicating that the Ministry’s vision aims to create a breakthrough in the technical education system to graduate students whose skills and abilities keep pace with the changing requirements of the labor market.
