The UAE shares Qatar’s joy on National Day

The UAE participates in the celebrations of its National Day, which falls on December 18 every year, as an embodiment of the fraternal relations between the two brotherly countries.
The two countries are linked by strong and established relations, supported by historical ties and a common cultural and social heritage. They are also united by a sincere desire and determination to establish a prosperous future for the two countries and the two brotherly peoples, under the umbrella of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf.
Emirati-Qatari relations are moving forward under the guidance and patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, and his brother His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, in a manner that establishes a bright future for the two brotherly countries and peoples.
The official visits exchanged between leaders and officials of the two countries contribute to consolidating bilateral relations between them and pushing them towards greater cooperation and joint work in various fields, in a way that achieves their mutual interests.
In this context falls the visit made by His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the sisterly State of Qatar, to the UAE, last June, and the visit of His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, to Doha, last October. And other mutual visits by senior officials of the two countries, which contributed to improving the level of relations between the two brotherly countries. The UAE and Qatar are keen to enhance cooperation and coordination in various fields, in order to achieve the mutual interests of the two countries and their visions towards development and sustainable prosperity.
During 2023, the UAE’s foreign trade with the State of Qatar recorded a significant growth of 18.3%, reaching 37 billion dirhams, compared to the previous year, and it also recorded about 21 billion during the first half of the current year 2024.
The UAE is the first trading partner in the Gulf and the Arab world, and the eighth in the world for the State of Qatar, as the UAE accounts for 52% of Qatar’s trade in the Gulf.
The total number of Emirati commercial licenses in Qatar increased by 11% during the year 2023, compared to 2022, reaching 248 commercial licenses, and there are more than 100 flights weekly between the two countries, which indicates that the tourism sector between the two countries is witnessing growth, and is pushing towards strengthening it. Providing services and financing as one of the strategic sectors for both countries.
The two countries continue their efforts to raise the level of joint cooperation in various fields such as energy, industry, finance, youth and sports, higher education and scientific research, and other fields.
