Youth and Sports implements the National Reading Project in Beheira Governorate
Within the framework of the Egyptian state’s directives to build human beings and consolidate the culture of awareness and knowledge, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Central Administration for Youth Development, implemented the activities of the National Reading Project in Beheira Governorate.
The activities took place at the Youth Development Center in Damanhour, in the presence of Dr. Alaa El-Gazzar, Director of the Youth and Sports Directorate in Beheira, and with the participation of the leaders of the National Reading Project from the Scientific Research Investment Foundation (Professor Najwa Salah and Dr. Mahmoud Fouad and Dr. Shaima Azbawi, where an extensive introductory symposium was organized to celebrate the start of the implementation of the project activities within the governorate.
During the symposium, they confirmed that the national reading project is one of the largest national cultural projects aimed at restoring the book’s reputation and consolidating the reading habit among various segments of society, Due to the importance of the participation of young people, students, teachers, and families in its activities, in addition to the scientific and cognitive impact of reading in developing mental abilities, raising intelligence levels, and building a balanced personality capable of critical thinking and creativity.
The symposium witnessed broad interaction from members of the Cultural Club of the Youth and Sports Directorate, and a large number of school and university students and graduates, in addition to the effective participation of some families, in a scene that reflects the Bahrawi community’s awareness of the importance of culture and knowledge in building future generations.
The professor also reviewed Bahjat Samaida, winner of first place in the Educated Teacher category in the fourth season of the National Reading Project, presented his personal experience and success story, covering the stages of his journey with reading, and the pivotal role of the project in supporting and motivating him until he climbed to the podium, which represented a great source of inspiration for the attendees.
The National Reading Project comes within the framework of the strategy of the Ministry of Youth and Sports aimed at supporting cultural and educational initiatives, and expanding the base of their beneficiaries within the governorates, in a way that contributes to building a conscious and cultured generation. And capable of facing the challenges of the times with science and knowledge.
