Health Care reviews its efforts with comprehensive health insurance in the Canal Region

The Health Care Authority, headed by Dr. Ahmed Al-Sabki, Chairman of the Authority’s Board of Directors and General Supervisor of the Comprehensive Health Insurance Project, announced the achievements of comprehensive health insurance in the governorates of the Canal Region (Port Said, Ismailia, South Sinai, Suez), since the launch of President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, The historic leader of health reform in Egypt was the starting signal for the launch of the comprehensive health insurance system in July 2019, with its experimental launch in Port Said Governorate, and the completion of the official operation of the system. The head of the Health Care Authority explained that the comprehensive health insurance system in the Canal governorates has witnessed the registration of about 2.5 million citizens so far, while the cost of operating it so far has reached more than 25.5 billion pounds. Pointing out that the total medical and therapeutic services provided to citizens amounted to 36.6 million medical and therapeutic services through 157 medical facilities affiliated with the Authority in the Canal Region, including 20 million services in the Governorate. Port Said, 13 million services in Ismailia Governorate, 1.9 million services in South Sinai, in addition to 1.7 million services in Suez.

Al-Sobki added: “The governorates of the Canal Region are an honorable model for the successful implementation of the comprehensive health insurance system, which relies on On digital transformation, automation, and global quality. We are committed to providing integrated and distinguished health services that achieve citizen satisfaction, as the beneficiary satisfaction rate reached more than 90%.”

Al-Sabki pointed out that more than 300,000 operations and surgical interventions have been performed through the facilities of the Health Care Authority in the Canal Region, With global success rates, including highly precise operations performed for the first time under the umbrella of comprehensive health insurance, he pointed out that the citizen does not bear more than 450 pounds as a contribution rate, regardless of the cost of the operation. There are some operations. Its cost outside comprehensive health coverage exceeds one million pounds.

He continued: The Authority’s family medicine units and centers in the Canal Region provided more than 19.5 million family medicine services, in addition to conducting 1.8 million comprehensive medical examinations, pointing out that family medicine facilities are The first portal for citizens to obtain medical services in the comprehensive health insurance system.

He continued: Automation has been completed  100% of primary care units and centers, and 90% of hospitals in the Canal governorates, which led to improving the quality of health services and the speed of their provision, while 132 medical facilities were accredited in accordance with the standards of the General Authority for Health Accreditation and Regulatory (GAHAR), which is internationally recognized by ESCWA International ( ISQua).

Dr. Al-Sabki added: “What has been achieved today in the governorates of the Canal Region is an important step on the path to universalizing the comprehensive health insurance system nationwide.” Republic.
