Al-Braikan leaves the Saudi squad due to injury and the journalist is summoned to replace him

The Saudi national team participating in the Gulf Cup Football Championship (Gulf 26) announced on Sunday that Marwan Al-Sahafi, the Belgian Beerschot player, was summoned to replace Firas Al-Braikan, who left the squad due to injury.
The 20-year-old journalist winger did not join the Saudi squad due to his playing matches with Beerschot, but he will join the team’s delegation in Kuwait during the Belgian League’s winter break, which begins on December 27 and continues until next January 10.
The Saudi national team said on the “X” platform, “Coach Hervé Renard excluded the player Firas Al-Braikan from Al-Akhdar’s final list for the 26th Gulf Cup based on the medical report submitted by the national team’s medical staff this morning, which confirmed the player’s need for a treatment program.”
He added, “Coach Renard decided to include the player Marwan Al-Sahafi in the final list after his club’s winter break, as he will join the camp on December 28.”
Al-Braikan (24 years old), Al-Ahly striker, is one of the main players in the Saudi squad, which is seeking to win the title for the fourth time in its history and the first since 2003.
