المملكة: By more than 50%…the camel festival boosts the economy in Al-Sayahid

The King Abdulaziz Camel Festival, in its ninth edition, which is held under the slogan “Glory to its people,” is witnessing great economic momentum, as its various activities have contributed to moving the wheel of the local economy remarkably.
This is a result of the large demand from participants and visitors from within the Kingdom and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, in addition to international visitors.

High returns on economic activity

Economic activity returns in the Al-Sayahid area and the governorates of Remah and Al-Rumhiyah increased by more than 50% compared to normal days.
Hotels and accommodation facilities in the areas surrounding the festival witnessed a significant increase in occupancy rates, and received unprecedented numbers of visitors who came to follow the competitions and accompanying cultural and entertainment events.

A number of restaurant and shop owners confirmed an increase in sales rates, and the owner of a restaurant in Remah indicated that the festival contributed to achieving good revenues.
He stressed that the days that coincide with events record double the work activity compared to usual.
The economic movement included all commercial activities that affect the lives of visitors and hikers in the region, as the festival has become a major economic season, which the people and merchants of the region await every year, especially since the festival is held in these cold climates, which increases purchasing activity for winter clothes, heating devices, and tents.

160 singles in the Crown Prince’s half

The King Abdulaziz Camel Festival in its ninth edition, which is held under the slogan “Glory to its people,” witnessed exciting competition in the Crown Prince’s Shalfa race for the Sha’al category, with 160 individual entries in which 4 contestants participated, in one of the most prominent rounds of the competition.
This round includes a special challenge to participate from “Al-Mafrooda” to “Al-Jaja’a”, as each contestant has the right to enter the competition with 20 individuals representing different age groups: Al-Mafrooda, Al-Haqqa, Al-Laqiyah, and Al-Jaja’a.
