المملكة: The Kingdom bans the import of poultry and eggs from Poland due to bird flu

The Saudi Food and Drug Authority announced a ban on the import of poultry meat and table eggs from Poland, after an outbreak of highly virulent bird flu was confirmed in the “Mazowieckie” and “Warminsko-Mazowieckie” provinces.
The decision came based on official reports from the Polish side that confirmed the spread of the virus in the two aforementioned provinces, which prompted the authority to take rapid measures to prevent the entry of any poultry products that might pose a threat to the health of citizens and residents.
The ban includes all poultry products and table eggs, including processed meat and preparations, while the Authority excluded products heat-treated using its approved methods.
The Food and Drug Authority stressed its continued monitoring of the health situation in various countries and taking all necessary measures to ensure the safety of imported food and protect consumer health.
For its part, the Federation of Saudi Chambers informed poultry importers of the ban, calling on them to abide by it and cooperate with the competent authorities to ensure the safety of the procedures.
