12 killed in an ammunition factory explosion in northwestern Türkiye

At least 12 people were killed and four others were injured today, in an explosion that occurred in an ammunition factory in northwestern Türkiye.
The Turkish authorities opened an investigation to determine the circumstances of the incident, ruling out the hypothesis of sabotage.
Ismail Ustaoglu, Governor of Balikesir State, said that the explosion occurred due to a technical defect, noting that the injured were taken to the hospital, where their condition was described as not serious..
