The UAE condemns the Israeli Minister of Security’s storming of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque

The UAE strongly condemned the storming of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque by Itamar Ben Gvir, the Israeli Minister of National Security, under the protection of the Israeli police, which is considered provocative and incitement towards Muslims and an act of extremism.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated the UAE’s firm position on the necessity of providing full protection for Al-Aqsa Mosque and stopping serious and provocative violations there.

The Ministry stressed the importance of respecting the role of the sisterly Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in caring for holy sites and endowments in accordance with international law and the existing historical situation, and not to infringe on the authority of the powers of the Jerusalem Endowments Administration and the affairs of Al-Aqsa Mosque, the Dome of the Rock Mosque, and the surrounding courtyards.

The Ministry also warned of the serious repercussions of the ongoing incursions and violations of the Holy Mosque in light of the tension experienced in the region, and called on the Israeli authorities to stop the escalation and not take steps to exacerbate tension and instability in the region, affirming the UAE’s categorical rejection of all practices that violate international legitimacy resolutions and that threaten to further escalation.

The Ministry called on the international community to strengthen all regional and international efforts, to find a serious political horizon that contributes to achieving comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution and achieves the hopes and aspirations of the brotherly Palestinian people in building an independent, sovereign state, in accordance with the relevant resolutions of international legitimacy.
