“White” received the equalizer from a “half chance”

The coach of the national football team, Paulo Pinto, expressed his disappointment at Al-Abyad’s farewell to the Gulf Football Cup “Gulf 26” after a 1-1 draw against his Omani counterpart in the third “final” round.

He said in the press conference after the end of the match: “We had control in the first half. We had many opportunities but did not take advantage of them, and in the second half we shared control with our opponent, and our opponent was able to score from a half-chance.”

He added: “As we approached the penalty area, we had several chances, unlike the opponent, as I mentioned, who scored from half a chance. It is natural for the morale of the players to be affected after receiving the equalizer.”

He continued: “We tried to move forward and we got a penalty kick and we did not take advantage of it. It was our last chance to come back. We should have won this match, but we were not able to take advantage of our chances.”

He concluded: “In general, I am happy with the players’ performance because they performed well, but in the end the result was not what we wanted.”
