Higher education": Establishing 7 centers to serve students with disabilities in public universities"

Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education, directed that universities be prepared for the exams of the first semester of the academic year 2024/2025. He also regularly directed the faculty members, the supporting staff, and the administrative staff throughout the exam period; To ensure the regularity and proper conduct of examinations at universities and institutes.
At the meeting of the Supreme Council of Universities, “Ashour” praised the various and systematic efforts of universities in implementing the presidential initiative “A New Beginning for Human Building,” and the universities’ provision of many diverse services. In various geographical regions, universities launched many development convoys in various parts of the Republic to serve citizens, in order to activate the role of universities in serving society and developing the environment at the level of Governorates.
The Minister of Higher Education stressed that promoting innovation and transforming the outputs of scientific research into products of economic value to serve the national economy is one of the Ministry’s priorities in accordance with the National Strategy for Higher Education and Scientific Research, referring to the presidential initiative "Alliance and Development" Which aims to achieve a development boom in the Egyptian regions through the integration of the efforts of universities, industry and the state, stressing that the initiative contributes to employing scientific research to serve the needs of industry and support the national economy, noting that the initiative works at the level of the seven regions in Egypt, as it unites the resources of each region. To face development and societal challenges in many fields, he stressed the need for universities to continue implementing the goals of the initiative.
He also stressed the ministry’s intention to internationalize the “Alliance and Development” initiative. By expanding international partnerships with a number of countries, and benefiting from their expertise in linking research outputs with industry, pointing out that the work on the ground has greatly contributed to bridging the gap between the study programs offered at the university, scientific research and the needs of industry to meet the needs of the labor market.
The Minister praised the inclusion of 42 Egyptian universities in the Times Higher Education Classification in its version for the Arab region for the year 2024, and 48 Egyptian universities were included in the results of the Arab University Classification for the year. 2024, as well as the inclusion of 26 Egyptian universities in the 2025 edition of the QS Sustainability Classification, an increase of 3 universities over last year’s edition. The Minister directed the need for universities to continue providing support to researchers to increase scientific publishing in prestigious scientific journals. To raise the ranking of Egyptian universities in major international rankings.
Dr. Ayman Ashour witnessed the signing of the third phase cooperation protocols to establish 7 centers to serve students with disabilities in 7 public universities, in cooperation with AMIDEAST, where the 7 centers will be established in universities ( Minya, Banha, Matrouh, Menoufia, Port Said, Aswan, Kafr El-Sheikh), bringing the total number of centers to 27 centers in 27 universities.
