المملكة: The number of pilgrims increased by 35% in the third quarter of 2024

The General Authority for Statistics announced the results of Umrah statistics for the third quarter of 2024, and showed that the total number of Umrah pilgrims reached 6,254,751 pilgrims in the third quarter of 2024, an increase of 35.0% over the same quarter of last year.
The percentage of male Umrah pilgrims was 57.4%, while the percentage of female Umrah pilgrims was 42.6% of the total Umrah pilgrims during the quarter.

Number of Saudi pilgrims

Saudi Umrah pilgrims constituted 10.7% of the total Umrah pilgrims during the third quarter of 2024.
The results of the bulletin reported that the total number of Umrah pilgrims abroad reached 3,348,512 Umrah pilgrims in the third quarter of 2024, an increase of 29.2% over the third quarter of 2023.

The number of male Umrah pilgrims reached 1,707,514, representing 51.0%, while the number of female Umrah pilgrims reached 1,638,743, representing 49.0% of the total number of Umrah pilgrims abroad during the third quarter of 2024.

Total domestic pilgrims

The results of the bulletin showed that the total number of domestic Umrah pilgrims reached approximately 2,906,239 Umrah pilgrims in the third quarter of 2024, an increase of 42.4% over the third quarter of 2023.
The number of Saudi Umrah pilgrims reached 671,729, representing 23.1%, while the number of non-Saudi Umrah pilgrims reached 2,234,510, representing 76.9%.
The number of male domestic Umrah pilgrims reached 1,883,199, representing 64.8%, while the number of female internal Umrah pilgrims reached 1,023,040, representing 35.2% of the total internal Umrah pilgrims during the third quarter of 2024.

Division according to the ages of pilgrims

Umrah pilgrims between the ages of 35 and 44 years constituted the highest percentage of Umrah pilgrims abroad in the third quarter of 2024, and their percentage reached 17.6% of the total Umrah pilgrims abroad.

While Umrah pilgrims over the age of 65 years constituted the smallest percentage of Umrah pilgrims abroad during the same quarter, and their percentage reached 9.2%.
Umrah pilgrims between the ages of 30 and 39 years constituted the highest percentage of internal Umrah pilgrims during the third quarter of 2024, and their percentage reached 29.2% of the total internal Umrah pilgrims.

Classification according to number of ages

The results of the bulletin showed that the number of domestic pilgrims who performed Umrah once amounted to about 2,295,747 pilgrims, of whom the percentage of males was 64.0%, while the percentage of females was 36.0%.
The month of August is also the highest percentage of domestic Umrah pilgrims who performed Umrah once, at 40.1% of the total domestic Umrah pilgrims who performed Umrah once during the third quarter of 2024.

The results showed that the percentage of pilgrims from abroad who came with an Umrah visa amounted to 60.8% of the total number of pilgrims abroad during the third quarter of 2024.
While the percentage of Umrah pilgrims arriving on other visas was 29.7%, and the percentage of Umrah pilgrims arriving on electronic visit visas was 6.6%.
Umrah pilgrims arriving on a Gulf visa accounted for 2.9% of the total Umrah pilgrims arriving from abroad during the third quarter of 2024.
