It aims to develop the capabilities of talented male and female students in the field of cybersecurity, and to encourage innovation and discover talent in the field, at the headquarters of the National Cybersecurity Academy.

The Authority explained that the Cybersecurity Hackathon comes within the second edition of the “National Cyber Exercises Program” and within the framework of the memorandum of understanding that it signed with “Mawhiba”, targeting a group of male and female general and university education students.
It also included implementing a realistic simulation of cyber threats and a set of interactive challenges at different levels in the fields of cyber security.
This is done through a specialized platform built, hosted and operated locally, in cooperation with the Authority’s technical arm, the Saudi Information Technology Company (SITE).
Cybersecurity in Saudi Arabia
The National Cybersecurity Authority is the authority responsible for cybersecurity in the Kingdom, and the national reference in its affairs, and aims to strengthen it. To protect the vital interests, infrastructure and national security of the state.
In addition to protecting sensitive infrastructure, priority sectors, government services and activities, building national capabilities specialized in the fields of cybersecurity, and participating in the preparation of educational and training programs for them.

Riyadh is the headquarters of the Council of Arab Cybersecurity Ministers
A few days ago, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia signed, on the sidelines of the first regular session of the Council of Arab Cybersecurity Ministers, a headquarters agreement with the Council of Arab Cybersecurity Ministers.
Under the agreement, the Council will take the city of Riyadh as its permanent headquarters, including its affiliated bodies (the General Secretariat and the Executive Office).
The “Council of Arab Cybersecurity Ministers”, which was established based on a proposal submitted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, is a council consisting of Arab ministers concerned with cybersecurity affairs.
The Council is responsible for formulating general policies and setting strategies and priorities that will develop joint Arab action in cybersecurity.
