Cancellation and delay of dozens of flights. Snow paralyzes air traffic in northern Europe
Airports were also closed for temporary periods, flights were canceled and delayed, and air traffic at Madrid and Barcelona airports was affected due to the delay of flights coming from Northern Europe, as some flights were delayed for three and a half hours.

Several centimeters of snow fell in England and Wales overnight Saturday and Sunday.
In the West Yorkshire region of northern England, snow accumulated to a thickness of 12 centimeters on Sunday morning, according to the United Kingdom Meteorological Service.
In highland areas, the thickness of snow reached about 40 centimetres.
Manchester International Airport announced at midday the resumption of air traffic after being suspended for several hours.
Delay in take-off and landing times
The airport authorities warned on the X platform that “there may be a delay in take-off and landing times while our teams work to defrost the planes and open the runways.”
Liverpool Airport, which is also located in northern England, announced the resumption of traffic, but advised travelers to contact airlines due to expected traffic delays.
In Germany, many airports were forced to adjust their flight schedules on Sunday due to heavy snowfall and rain.
Dozens of flights cancelled
Frankfurt Airport authorities (west), the largest in the country, confirmed the cancellation of 120 flights out of about 1,090 scheduled for Sunday.
In addition, poor visibility in the airspace at night disrupts air traffic, and in Munich, the authorities canceled 35 flights during the night out of 750 scheduled take-offs and landings at the country’s second largest airport.
Berlin Airport authorities were forced to cancel 17 flights and delay 30 as of Friday evening with the onset of bad weather conditions.

Snow falling
On Sunday afternoon, the German Meteorological Service suspended its warnings of bad weather.
At Amsterdam’s main European airport, Schiphol, 68 flights were canceled and more than 200 were delayed due to snowfall, according to what the airport’s website confirmed.
In Norway, heavy snow is expected to fall in the southeast of the country, while flights to European destinations have been cancelled, as well as long-distance flights to the United States.
