The Foreign Minister meets the Minister of Trade, Industry and Investment Promotion in the Sultanate of Oman

He met Dr. Badr Abdel Ati, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, today with Mr. Qais Al-Yousef, Minister of Trade, Industry and Investment Promotion in the Sultanate of Oman, to discuss enhancing economic and trade cooperation between the two brotherly countries, in addition to discussing promising investment opportunities and ways to deepen the economic partnership.
 
Minister Abdel Ati praised the Omani renaissance and development process and the achievements made by the Sultanate of Oman in recent years, in light of its implementation of ambitious plans for economic reform. Within the framework of the Sultanate’s Vision 2040, stressing the importance of achieving integration between Egypt’s Vision 2030 and the Sultanate’s Vision 2040, which contributes to strengthening economic cooperation between Egypt and the Sultanate, especially in the areas of investments, doubling trade exchange, and achieving integration between the two countries in the sectors of renewable energy, green hydrogen, and transportation. Shipping and logistical storage, food and pharmaceutical industries, and medical device manufacturing.
As Dr. pointed out. Badr Abdel Ati stressed the importance of working to strengthen cooperation between the Suez Canal Economic Zone and the Duqm Special Economic Zone Authority, as well as maritime connectivity between the two ports of “Duqm” and “Duqm” And “Salalah” And Egyptian ports, such as the port of Alexandria, the port of Ain Sokhna, and others, in a way that enhances trade exchange between the two countries, and contributes to deepening cooperation between them in the fields of navigational transport and logistical storage, in light of the distinguished geographical location that Egypt and Oman enjoy, overlooking strategic shipping lanes and straits. p>
Minister Abdel-Ati stressed the need to strengthen the role of the private sector and businessmen from the two countries, expressing Egypt’s aspiration to strengthen trade relations. Economic and economic relations between the two countries and benefiting from joint free trade agreements, as well as increasing the volume of investments and the number of Egyptian companies operating in various sectors and areas of cooperation between the two countries.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs reviewed the investment climate in Egypt. Which witnessed many institutional reforms to facilitate procedures for investors, and at the top of these reforms comes the modernization of the system of legislation for the business sector, including industrial licensing laws, companies, the financial market, investment, labor, and others, which reflects the Egyptian government’s interest in the foreign investor and its aspiration to increase investment flows.
Minister Abdel Ati also stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation ties between national projects in the two countries, especially in the sectors of land transport, railways, urban development, the establishment of smart cities, and infrastructure projects. Basic, expressing Egypt’s aspiration for Egyptian companies present in the Sultanate to participate with Omani and Gulf companies in implementing development projects in the Sultanate of Oman, especially in light of the major projects expected to be implemented within the framework of the foreign investment plan announced within the vision 2040.
