According to the film’s producers, ticket sales have reached ten thousand tickets every day, and thus “Hoopal” is heading towards setting records at the level of Saudi cinema, amid an increasing demand for watching it in theaters that reach ten showings per day in Riyadh.

The events of the movie “Hobal” revolve around a Saudi family who follows strict instructions from their grandfather to stay in the desert during the early 1990s. A series of events follow that shake the foundation of the family and find them in a struggle between life and death.
The work was presented in a Bedouin dialect known in the desert, and not in the white Saudi dialect that all residents of the Kingdom know, which added Saudi specificity, attracted attention to it, and also raised good reactions from critics and Saudi cultural elites who were allowed to watch it in two special screenings before it was released in theaters. The film is directed by Abdulaziz Al-Shalahi, written by Mufarrej Al-Muffel, and starring Ibrahim Al-Hasawi, Mila Al-Zahrani, Meshal Al-Mutairi, Hamdi Al-Faridi, Reem Fahd, and Dera’an Al-Dra’an.
