Developing media sector governance

The General Authority for Media Regulation launched the “Media Professions Guide,” through which it aims to develop the governance of the media sector and raise it to new levels of quality and professionalism.

The CEO of the General Authority for Media Regulation, Dr. Abdul Latif Al Abdul Latif said that the guide is a reference for describing and classifying media jobs, and is one of the fruits of the Authority’s new strategy, which aims to improve the governance of the media sector and raise its efficiency.

Al-Abdul Latif pointed out the importance of professional registration in developing the media sector, and said that the guide comes as a complement to professional registration for the governance and control of media professions, and defining a reference for their description in institutions and media bodies in a way that raises the quality of media practices.
He explained that the Authority will continue its efforts to develop the media sector to be a tributary to the national economy and keep pace with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 and its prosperous future.

The guide presents the general principles that govern the performance of work in media professions and the controls that media professionals must adhere to, as they complement the media content controls stipulated in the audiovisual media system and its executive regulations.
