"Community development in Dubai" : distribution "Eidiya" 11,000 beneficiaries from families and children, with a value of more than 25 million dirhams

Dubai, March 18 / WAM / In conjunction with the approaching Eid al-Fitr, and within the objectives of the “Year of the Family,” the Community Development Authority in Dubai continued its efforts to bring joy to various segments of society, by distributing “Eidiya” to more than 11,000 beneficiaries from the groups registered with it, in an initiative that embodies the authentic societal values associated with this occasion in Emirati society.
The initiative included families benefiting from financial benefits registered with the Authority, along with other priority groups, including children and minors, in cooperation with the Endowments Foundation and the Management of Minors’ Funds, within the framework of a partnership that reflects the integration of roles between the parties concerned with social work, and contributes to maximizing the societal impact of initiatives directed at supporting families.
The total value of the “Eidiya” distributed amounted to more than 25 million dirhams, which reflects the amount of interest in enhancing the quality of life of families, sharing the joy of Eid with various segments of society, and consolidating aspects of community solidarity and compassion.
This initiative comes as an extension of the Authority’s efforts to enhance community cohesion, by activating initiatives related to religious and social events, which contributes to consolidating family ties and enhancing the quality of life in the Emirate of Dubai, in line with the objectives of the Dubai Social Agenda 33, which aims to build a more cohesive and stable society.
Her Excellency Hessa bint Issa Buhumaid, Director General of the Community Development Authority in Dubai, confirmed that the “Eidiya” initiative reflects Dubai’s keenness to enhance the human dimension in social work, especially on occasions that have a special place among families and children.
She said: “Children are the essence of the family and one of the most important pillars of building a cohesive society. From this standpoint, we are keen to provide initiatives that enhance their sense of joy and belonging during religious and social occasions. Eid represents a moment in which the values of communication and compassion are renewed, and the spirit of the united Emirati society is manifested.”
Her Excellency added: “Through this initiative, we aim to enable children and families to enjoy the Eid atmosphere with all its human and social meanings, which contributes to establishing a supportive community environment that enhances family stability and cohesion, and supports Dubai’s trends towards building a more interconnected society with a higher quality of life.”
The authority explained that this initiative comes within a series of community initiatives that it is implementing during the holy month of Ramadan within the “Season of Loyalty,” which aims to enhance the spirit of giving and community cohesion, and establish a culture of positive participation among members of society.
