Counselor Amal Ammar, President of the National Council for Women, received Ms. Valerie Hopper, CEO of the Institute for Women’s Health in the United States of America (IWH), and Ms. Anita Mbimbara, the Institute’s chief diplomatic official. The goal of the meeting was to discuss ways of cooperation between the two sides in the women’s health file.

At the beginning, Counselor Amal Ammar welcomed Mrs. Valerie Huber, expressing her happiness with this visit, and her aspiration to cooperate with the Institute during the coming period, and to exchange experiences in the field Women’s Health, stressing that the Egyptian state pays great attention to the issue of Egyptian women’s health, as the 2014 Egyptian Constitution guarantees women’s right to integrated health care in Article 18 as one of their basic rights.

For her part, Mrs. Valerie Hooper spoke about the role of the Institute Women’s health in the United States and its support for policies that give priority to maternal and child health. She also touched on the institute’s Protego project, which aims to form international partnerships to improve the health of women and families, expressing her aspiration. For continued cooperation with the Egyptian government in this field.
Mrs. Anita Mimpara expressed her happiness at visiting Egypt, appreciating the role of the National Council for Women in supporting women’s issues and health, saying, “We look forward to cooperating with the Council and exchanging experiences in the field of women’s health.” .
While Dr. Salma Dawara stressed the importance of a comprehensive approach to women’s health, which must include addressing all aspects of their lives, with a focus on physical, mental, social, environmental and emotional factors.
