“We cannot surrender.” Biden pledges not to abandon Ukraine
Outgoing US President Joe Biden announced on Monday that his country and its Western allies “cannot abandon” Ukraine in its war against Russia.

Biden added during a speech in Washington about the outcome of his foreign policy, “We helped the Ukrainians stop (Russian President Vladimir) Putin.
He continued: After three years, Putin failed to achieve all his strategic goals… He failed because of the unity of NATO… We cannot surrender.”
War developments
On the ground, about 300 North Korean soldiers were killed and 2,700 others were injured during fighting as part of the Russian war on Ukraine.
This comes as a South Korean lawmaker reported on Monday, citing information from the intelligence service in Seoul.
Ukraine, the United States and South Korea accuse Pyongyang, which has nuclear weapons, of sending more than 10,000 soldiers to fight alongside Russian forces.
