Japan achieved a current account surplus of 54.5% in November

TOKYO, 14 JANUARY / WAM / Japan’s current account surplus achieved a growth of 54.5% on an annual basis, reaching 3.35 trillion yen ($21.3 billion) last November, according to what the Japanese Ministry of Finance announced today, Tuesday.
The ministry said in a preliminary report, reported by the Japanese Kyodo News Agency, that the current account balance, one of the broadest measures of international trade, remained in the positive zone for the twenty-second month in a row.
Japanese merchandise trade recorded a surplus of 97.9 billion yen, compared to a deficit of 683.3 billion yen in the previous year, as exports rose by 2.8% to 8.91 trillion yen, while imports decreased by 5.7% to 8.81 trillion yen.
