Al Ain and Ajman…a wound healing match

Al Ain will host Ajman at 17:05 pm today, within the 12th stage of the ADNOC Professional Football League, in a confrontation that the two teams seek to heal their wounds, in the wake of the negative results they suffered in the previous rounds.

Al Ain Club, the Asian Cup holder and representative of the UAE in the 2025 Club World Cup, is experiencing a period of noticeable decline in its results during the current season, which has raised many questions about the reasons behind the fluctuating performance of the team that was described as a winning machine that does not know how to stop.

Al-Zaeem missed an ideal opportunity to return from the big gate to compete for the league title, after wasting five consecutive points at home and among its fans against the two leading teams in the last two matches. He tied with Al-Sharjah without goals in the 11th round, and lost to Shabab Al-Ahly with a goal without a response in a postponed match from The seventh round was held last week, making it take big steps backwards by being in sixth place with 19 points, 12 points behind Sharjah, the leader.

Despite the presence of prominent strikers, such as Sofiane Rahimi and Laba Kodjo, the team was unable to score goals in the last two matches, a precedent that occurred for the first time this season, and despite the significant improvement that occurred in Al Ain’s performance after Portuguese coach Jardim took over the reins of technical leadership, both on the level of Possession of the ball or the cohesion of the defensive system greatly affected the offensive side, which was not at its best, especially against the top teams.

The Ajman match appears to be a great opportunity for Al Ain to reconcile its fans and advance in the league table, as the victory will raise its score to 22 points, ahead of Al Jazira, which is in fifth place with 21 points.

On the other hand, Ajman will enter the confrontation and is not in its best condition recently, after losing to Kalba 2-3, dropping to tenth place with 10 points.

This season, Orange suffered from poor performance from its foreign players, despite the support made by the administration by bringing in a large number of foreign and resident players. However, they did not convince Serbian coach Goran, who kept quite a few of them out of the starting lineup, such as Heikal Al-Shakhawi, Abdelhamid Sabri, Mohamed Spol, Anas Mitesh, and Faraj. Bin Najima.

Since the start of the professional league, Ajman has met Al Ain in 24 matches, and the balance was in favor of Al Ain, which won 20 matches, while Ajman won once, and they tied three times.
