Bani Yas and Al Jazira will participate tomorrow in the Arab Volleyball Championship in Doha

Doha, January 15 / WAM / The Baniyas and Al Jazira teams, representing the Emirates, will open their campaign tomorrow, Thursday, in the Arab Volleyball Championship, which is being held in the Qatari capital, Doha, in its 43rd edition, with the participation of 15 clubs, representing 10 Arab countries, and will continue until January 25, on the courts. Nadia El Arabi and Qatar.
The delegation of the two teams arrived in Doha yesterday, in preparation for participating in the tournament, while the recent period witnessed the two teams playing a number of friendly matches in Abu Dhabi before traveling.
Baniyas will meet with Al Salam of Oman, while Al Jazira will meet with Burgan of Kuwait.
The draw placed the Baniyas team in the first group with the Libyan clubs Al-Suwaihli and the Omani club Al-Salam, and Al-Jazeera came in the fourth group with the Palestinian Gaza, the Kuwaiti Burgan, and the Qatari club Qatar.
The second group includes Al-Seeb of Oman, Al-Kuwait of Kuwait, Al-Hilal of Libya, and Zamalek of Egypt, and the third includes Erbil of Iraq, Darkulaib of Bahrain, Al-Ahly of Egypt, and Al-Shorta of Qatar.
The group stage matches in the tournament will conclude on January 20.
Rashid Al Hameli, President of Al Jazira Sports Company, confirmed the team’s readiness to participate in the tournament and compete to reach the furthest point.
Jassim Al Saadi, manager of the volleyball team at Baniyas Club, said that his team’s ambition is to compete for the title and represent Emirati sports in an honorable manner.
It is worth noting that the Libyan Swehli team is the last champion to be crowned in the tournament.
