The Saqr humanitarian ship arrives at the port of Al-Arish, carrying more than 4,000 tons of UAE aid to the Gaza Strip.
Al-Arish, February 6, 2017 (WAM) – The Saqr humanitarian ship arrived at the port of Al-Arish in the Arab Republic of Egypt, carrying more than 4,000 tons of humanitarian and relief aid allocated to support the brothers in the Gaza Strip, as part of the continuing humanitarian efforts of the United Arab Emirates within the framework of Operation “Gallant Knight 3”.
The shipment includes basic food supplies and shelter materials, including winter clothes and living supplies, in addition to medicines, consumables and medical devices, which contribute to alleviating the suffering of civilians and meeting urgent humanitarian needs, especially for children, women and the elderly.
In this context, His Excellency Ahmed Rashid Al Zaabi, Secretary-General of the Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, said: Today we receive the Saqr Humanitarian Ship, this ship loaded with love, giving and brotherhood, in addition to 4,000 tons of consumables, medical supplies, medicines, as well as food supplies and dates, which is the UAE’s gift to our brothers in the Gaza Strip on the occasion of the blessed month of Ramadan.
Upon the ship’s arrival at the port of Al-Arish, it was received by the UAE humanitarian aid team, and the procedures for unloading the humanitarian aid began and transporting it to the UAE humanitarian aid logistics center in Al-Arish, in preparation for its entry into the Gaza Strip in coordination with the official authorities and relevant humanitarian partners.
His Excellency Hamad Obaid Al Zaabi, the UAE Ambassador to the Arab Republic of Egypt, and its Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States, praised the great efforts made by the UAE humanitarian aid team present in the city of Al-Arish, to ensure the arrival of aid to the Gaza Strip, stressing that the ongoing work reflects the established humanitarian values of the UAE in supporting our Palestinian brothers.
The Humanitarian Falcon Ship No. 12 is among the relief ships sent by the UAE in support of the Gaza Strip within the framework of Operation “Gallant Knight 3”, an affirmation of the country’s established humanitarian approach in extending a helping hand to peoples affected by crises.
