Trump’s inauguration events…a procession to the Capitol and a presidential parade in the cold
The inauguration marks the formal transfer of presidential power, with executive power moving from the Biden administration to the Trump administration.
The 20th Amendment stipulates that the president’s four-year term ends at noon on January 20, and the president-elect is inaugurated shortly thereafter, according to CNBC.

- The presidential parade, which will be held at Capital One Arena in central Washington, was due to the cold.
The ceremony was initially scheduled to be held on the western facade of the US Capitol, but the President-elect decided to move the ceremony to the Capitol Hall due to the cold temperatures expected in Washington on Monday.
While there is no set time for the length of the inauguration, the proceedings lasted about an hour when Trump was sworn in in 2017 and Mr. Biden was inaugurated in 2021.
What is the schedule for the inauguration ceremony?
Klobuchar will issue an appeal for order, and Timothy Cardinal Dolan, Archbishop of New York, and the Rev. Franklin Graham will deliver an invocation.
Christopher Macchio, the opera singer nicknamed America’s Tenor, will sing “Oh, America!”
Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh will then administer the Vice Presidential Oath to J.D. Vance. Trump nominated Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court in 2018 after Justice Anthony Kennedy retired.
Singer Carrie Underwood, in conjunction with the Armed Forces Choir and the U.S. Naval Academy Singing Club, will perform “America the Beautiful.”
After they are sworn in, Chief Justice John Roberts will administer Trump’s presidential oath.
The Naval Academy Singing Club will return to sing “The Battle Hymn of the Republic,” after which Trump will deliver his inaugural address.
The ceremony will conclude with a blessing recitation from Rabbi Dr. Ari Berman, President of Yeshiva University; Imam Hisham Al-Husseini from the Karbala Center for Islamic Education; Pastor Lorenzo Sowell of 180 Detroit Church; and the Rev. Father Frank Mann of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Brooklyn, and the national anthem performed by Macchio.
