المملكة: The Center of Excellence for Social Welfare in Mecca will handle 450 domestic violence cases in 2024

The Center of Excellence for Social Care at the Makkah Al-Mukarramah Health Center initiated more than 450 cases of domestic violence and abuse in its hospitals and health centers during the past year 2024 AD.

The Mecca Health Cluster explained that the center initiated these cases during the first year of launching its services, which reflects the health system’s commitment to providing advanced and integrated services to the community.

The most important services provided

The care provided included medical, psychological and social services, with 80% of cases referred to the psychosocial rehabilitation clinic to address the psychological and social consequences of exposure to violence.
The center also worked to accelerate and integrate service provision by holding a conference for high-risk cases in coordination with other sectors.

It is noteworthy that the Center of Excellence for Social Care is concerned with managing domestic violence case services, and works to document accurate statistics and classify the level of seriousness of cases, through protection teams deployed in all hospitals and centers of the Makkah Al-Mukarramah Health Cluster.
