The Foreign Minister reviews with European representatives the serious consequences of the region’s crises

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Affairs of Egyptians Abroad, Dr. Badr Abdel Ati, reviewed the serious challenges that the region’s crises pose to the security and stability of the region, and the importance of supporting the European side to enable Egypt to confront these challenges, in light of the interconnection between the security and stability of the Middle East region and the security and stability of Europe.

This came during a meeting held by the Foreign Minister on Tuesday with Greek representatives of the European Parliament who belong to the European People’s Party group and the Alliance of Socialists and Democrats, during his visit to the European Parliament headquarters in The French city of Strasbourg.  Minister Abdel Aty expressed appreciation for the support of Greece and the Greek representatives in the European Parliament to raise relations between Egypt and the European Union to the level of a strategic and comprehensive partnership, especially in light of the extended historical ties between Egypt and Greece and the specificity of the relations between the two countries, stressing the reliance on the Greek representatives within the European Parliament to approve the second tranche. From the European financial package for Egypt, which amounts to 4 billion euros. 

Abdel-Ati reviewed the positive developments witnessed in relations with the European Union since The visit of the President of the European Commission to Cairo on March 17, 2024 and the issuance of the joint declaration on the strategic and comprehensive partnership, stressing Egypt’s keenness to continue following up on the implementation of the partnership axes in a way that achieves the mutual interests of both sides.
