Cooperation between "Islamic affairs, endowments and zakat" and "UAE University"
Abu Dhabi, January 23 / WAM / The General Authority for Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat, and the United Arab Emirates University discussed ways to enhance cooperation in the field of scientific research and exchange of experiences in a way that supports the strategy of innovation and sustainability in all fields that advance common goals.
During a meeting held at the university’s headquarters in Al Ain, in the presence of His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Al-Raisi, Acting Chancellor of UAE University, His Excellency Ahmed Al-Neyadi, Director General of the General Authority for Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat, and a number of officials from both sides, they stressed the importance of strengthening communication and mutual benefit from the scientific and human expertise and capabilities of both parties. And supporting the visions, ideas and initiatives presented that are in line with the vision of the wise leadership and achieve the country’s strategy and future plans.
The meeting discussed the Authority’s project, “The Emirati Mosque,” by proposing initiatives in which the teaching staff and engineering students at the university participate to provide innovative engineering designs for Emirati mosques that reflect the Emirati identity, and are characterized by standards of quality and sustainability to be a unique global model that embodies Emirati architecture in its most beautiful cultural form.

Al-Raisi added that this cooperation opens broad horizons for developing innovative projects that contribute to achieving sustainability and preserving national identity, such as the “Emirati Mosque” project, which aims to highlight the cultural character of Emirati architecture through designs that combine originality and innovation and take into account the highest standards of efficiency and sustainability.
In order to activate this strategy, the two sides discussed ways for the Authority to contribute to supporting UAE University students through endowment and zakat projects, in addition to the university’s participation in providing scientific research in the field of using artificial intelligence in mosques and Holy Quran memorization centers.
