المملكة: Davos.. Al-Sawaha discusses enhancing innovation and artificial intelligence with technology companies
The Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Eng. Abdullah bin Amer Al-Sawaha, held a series of meetings with major technology companies as part of his participation within the Kingdom’s delegation at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
This comes with the aim of strengthening partnership in technology, artificial intelligence and innovation, to support the growth of the digital economy in the Kingdom.
Ways to support the digital economy
Al-Sawaha held a meeting with the Minister of Railways, Media, Broadcasting, Electronics and Information Technology of the Republic of India, Ashwini Vishnu, to discuss ways to support the digital economy, innovation and industrialization, and to review joint initiatives within the Saudi-Indian Partnership Council.
He also met with the CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Microsoft, Satya Nadella, to discuss the strategic partnership and enhancing technical investments in high-capacity cloud computing and artificial intelligence to support the growth of the digital economy in the Kingdom and the Middle East through the Kingdom’s strategic location.
Opportunities to enhance investment partnerships
In the context of attracting global investments in technology sectors, Al-Sawaha discussed with Larry Fink, CEO of BlackRock, opportunities to enhance investment partnerships in innovation and artificial intelligence projects.
He also met with Lenovo Chairman and CEO Yuanqing Yang, to discuss partnership prospects in manufacturing and technology projects in the Kingdom, and the current progress of the company’s plans and investments in the Kingdom.
To enhance the partnership in modern technologies, the Minister of Communications met with the CEO of Qualcomm, Cristiano Amon, to discuss expanding partnership opportunities in developing artificial intelligence and smart grid technologies to enhance the growth of the digital economy and sustainability.
In another meeting, he discussed with HPE CEO Antonio Neri the prospects for strategic partnership in the fields of technologies and cloud computing and the company’s efforts to localize servers in the Kingdom to enhance local content and support the growth of the digital economy in the Kingdom.
