"Abu Dhabi Arabic Language" Participates in a cultural program at the Cairo International Book Fair

Abu Dhabi, January 24 / WAM / The Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center participated in the 56th session of the Cairo International Book Fair 2025, organized by the Egyptian General Book Authority, from January 23 to next February 5, under the slogan “Read… In the beginning there was Al-Kalima”, with an integrated cultural program aimed at introducing its goals and strategies aimed at enhancing the presence of the Arabic language and supporting the movement of the publishing industry.

During its participation in a special pavilion, the Center presents about 600 titles from the publications of the “Kalima” Translation Project, the Insights Series for Research and Studies, and “Publications,” including 85 new titles, in addition to organizing discussion sessions, workshops, meetings, and assemblies that reflect its goals and strategy. The audience learned about the most prominent activities, events, and awards that it supervises, in addition to another pavilion that allows the public to purchase its latest titles and publications.

The Center organizes a wide range of cultural events and sessions concerned with highlighting the literary awards it supervises, most notably the “Sheikh Zayed Book Award and Supporting Arab Creative Industries” symposium, in which Dr. Ahmed Al-Saeed, founder and CEO of the House of Wisdom Culture Group, and Dr. Al-Shaima Al-Demerdash participate. , Executive Director of the Heritage Book Revival Project at the Library of Alexandria, and Publisher Dr. Fatima Al-Boudi, Dar Al-Ain Publishing Foundation, managed by journalist and media personality Mahmoud Sharaf, concerned with Speaking about the importance of the award and its status.

Al-Masry, Assistant Professor of Modern Literary Criticism at the Academy of Arts in Cairo, and the writer and novelist Walid Alaa El-Din, and it is managed by the storyteller, screenwriter, and photographer Sherif. Through this participation, the Center seeks to enrich the stock of readers by providing its latest publications, and to continue its efforts to enhance the Arab publishing movement, dedicate the culture of reading in the Arabic language, and consolidate the relations that it brings together with Egyptian and Arab cultural institutions and bodies by hosting personalities, writers, and intellectuals to participate in A series of dialogues he holds in his pavilion daily throughout the exhibition.

The program includes organizing “Arabic Coffee” podcast episodes in cooperation with the “Gaya Creativity Foundation,” each of which hosts an Arab intellectual, artist, or writer to talk about his experiences and projects, in addition to holding seminars and cultural workshops that discuss “Popular Narratives: Illuminations.” on creative experiences,” and another that addresses the latest publishing and creativity outcomes under the title “Digital Transformation: The Publishing Industry’s Gateway to the Future.” The center will also organize a virtual discussion session through which it will meet with a wide range of experts. Arab and foreign publishers to discuss pressing issues in the fields of Arab publishing. During specialized evenings, the Center reviews its art books, the most prominent of which is the session “Fine Art and Poetry: Exchange of Influence and Influence,” which is held in the presence of a group of writers, writers, and publishers.

The Cairo International Book Fair, in which 1,345 publishing houses from 80 countries participate this year, with the Sultanate of Oman as guest of honor, is one of the largest book fairs in the region, and receives great attention from Arab and foreign writers, thinkers, and publishers, as last year’s session attracted About 4.7 million visitors.
