Durrat Al Sahel Al Sharqi Festival continues its activities in the Hanging Gardens

Sharjah, January 25 / WAM / The activities of the Durrat Al Sahel Al Sharqi Festival, organized by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, continue for the first time in the Hanging Gardens in the city of Kalba and continue until tomorrow with wide participation from government departments and institutions, amid a remarkable turnout of visitors to enjoy the festival’s events and activities and learn about what… Its platforms provide a showcase of the city’s authentic heritage, its marine and agricultural environments, and its tourist attractions.

The exhibition constituted an important platform for participating entities to showcase their initiatives and work and highlight the vital role they play in preserving heritage and environmental diversity, in addition to achieving direct interaction with visitors and providing educational and introductory opportunities that contribute to enhancing awareness of the most important environmental, agricultural and heritage issues. Their participation also contributed to expanding the circle of knowledge. About modern technologies that support the fields of agriculture, wildlife and animal husbandry, in addition to strengthening the connection of new generations with the authentic Emirati heritage.

The festival was keen to celebrate the unique environmental diversity in Kalba by highlighting an important aspect of wildlife, which is birds of prey, whose breeding and possession is considered one of the ancient traditions of the residents of the Arabian Peninsula and the UAE.

Abdullah Salem Al-Qaidi, from the Kalba Center for Birds of Prey, explained that the center was keen to provide a unique experience in its pavilion at the festival by displaying a group of rare stuffed birds, in addition to the specialized tools used by falconers, such as burqa walkers, tucks, and tracking and transmission devices. The center also organized a series of interactive workshops. Which targeted various age groups with the aim of spreading environmental and cultural awareness about the importance of preserving birds of prey and protecting them from extinction. To enrich the children’s experience, the center organized educational and entertainment activities where the children participated. In workshops dedicated to introducing them to the art of training falcons and the importance of preserving birds of prey.

Ibrahim Hassan Al Ali from the Department of Agriculture and Livestock in Sharjah pointed out that the department was keen during its participation to showcase the smart and modern technologies used to enhance production on the wheat farm, in addition to introducing visitors to advanced technology such as the smart collar that senses the functions and vital signs of cows on the dairy farm. It also presented The department provides visitors with a unique experience using virtual reality (VR) glasses to visit the dairy farm and learn about the production processes from the inside, in addition to introducing them to how the smart control room on the farm uses artificial intelligence to analyze the data extracted from the smart collar, which contributes to enhancing Productivity, pointing to the importance of the festival in enhancing awareness of modern technology in agriculture and the environment and enhancing interaction with visitors through interactive and awareness-raising activities that highlight the importance of preserving natural resources.

Aisha Saleh, Head of the Festivals and Shows Department at the Sharjah Chamber, expressed her happiness with the great interaction of visitors with the events and activities of the Durrat East Coast Festival, stressing that this interaction reflects success in achieving its goals of combining the authentic Emirati heritage and highlighting the economic and agricultural development witnessed by the city, explaining that The festival was able to attract many visitors from different age groups, which indicates the wide interest that this important cultural and economic event enjoys, as it provides an ideal platform to learn about the Emirati heritage through distinctive interactive displays that also contribute to Its activities highlight modern innovations that contribute to preserving the environment, in addition to the role of participating institutions in spreading environmental awareness and preserving wildlife.
