Sharjah Biennial begins February 6 with the participation of 200 international artists

Sharjah, February 5 / WAM / The 16th session of Sharjah Biennial will start during the period from February 6, to June 15, with the participation of 200 artists from all over the world, they offer more than 650 artworks distributed over 17 sites in the Emirate of Sharjah and under the slogan “Our departure” .

This was announced by the Sharjah Art Foundation today during a press conference held in the House of Naboodah in the heart of Sharjah, in the presence of Sheikha Hor bint Sultan Al Qasimi, President of the Sharjah Art Foundation, and Sheikha Nawar bint Ahmed Al Qasimi, Director of the Sharjah Arts Foundation, along with the curtains on the Biennial Alia Sawaseta, Amal Khalaf, and Meghan Tamati Kionel, Natasha Jinwala, and Zinnab Oz.

Sheikha Hor bint Sultan Al Qasimi said that the Sharjah Biennial is one of the most prominent international cultural platforms that reflect the emirate’s vision in supporting arts and culture, praising the efforts made by the team and nations in organizing the 16th session.

Sheikha Nawar bint Ahmed Al Qasimi emphasized the role of Sharjah in supporting the arts and culture in the region, noting that the Sharjah Biennial has become a milestone in the global artistic scene thanks to the vision and support of Sheikha Hur Al Qasimi, and she also expressed her thanks and appreciation for the evaluation for their great efforts, to the partners and sponsors who contributed to The success of this great cultural event.

This year, the Biennial includes a set of artistic performances scattered in the city of Sharjah, including Hamriya, Al Dhaid, Kalba, Al -Madame, and many areas affiliated with the Emirate of Sharjah, which reflects the cultural and artistic diversity witnessed by the event.
