Panama denies the exemption of American ships from crossing their channel
This independent body that runs the waterway said: “The Panama Channel Authority, which has the authority to define fees and other rights to cross the channel, announces that there have been no adjustments to these rights.”

The US State Department announced that the US government ships would no longer be paid to cross the Panama channel.
The Foreign Ministry stated in a post on the “X” platform in which she said: “The Panama government agreed not to impose fees on the US government ships to cross the Panama channel, which provides millions of dollars annually to the American government.”

Trump also stated on several occasions that his country should have control of this important waterway.
His Panamyian counterpart, Jose Raul Mulino, immediately rejected these statements categorically.
Trump stated that China runs this important waterway in Central America, which was denied by Panama and China as well.
American warnings for Panama
A few days ago, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio Panama warned of an American movement against her unless “immediate changes” have been related to the Panama Channel.
Rubio said that Panama has violated the delivery treaty, explaining that “the current situation is unacceptable and that if there are no immediate changes, the matter will require the United States to take the necessary measures to protect its rights under the treaty.”
