The Municipality of Al -Madinah Al -Munawwarah region has completed the implementation of the Saad bin Khithimah Road Tunnel Project – may God be pleased with him – with Prince Abdul Majeed Road, “Middle Ring Ring, declaring its opening in front of the traffic movement; to contribute alongside various infrastructure projects in the region, to developing the road network and enhancing the link Between the main axes and the completion of the middle circular, to serve the city’s residents and visitors, and contributes to achieving urban development goals and supporting the Kingdom’s 2030 vision in improving the quality of life.
The project is a qualitative addition that helps to improve the flow of traffic on Prince Abdul Majeed Road, and to ensure the continuity of the movement in the middle ring road to reduce traffic density on the central roads, in addition to facilitating the connection to and from the Prophet’s Mosque.

Infrastructure development

The Municipality of Madinah Region explained that the tunnel is characterized by its engineering design, with a length of 600 meters, and is equipped with a closed area of ​​140 meters long long, and it depends on the system of remedial walls and pre -casting tunnels, and its width is 8.4 meters.

She explained: It is divided into two roads, the first of which is a lower tunnel with marinans, a path in one direction to the migration road and the upper road with marinans, while the other road meets the upper direction with the Saad bin Khithimah road and the Prince Abdul Majeed road in 3 lanes. Uterne includes the top of the tunnel, which reflects the huge work in developing the infrastructure of the axial roads.
She pointed out that the tunnel was implemented according to high technical specifications, which include integrated service facilities such as: pedestrian paths, advanced rainwater drainage systems, and indicative panels to ensure the clarity of information for vehicle drivers, as well as applying environmental sustainability standards through the use of environmentally friendly building materials And techniques contribute to reducing energy consumption.
The project is a qualitative step in developing and improving infrastructure in the region; It aims to facilitate traffic and enhance its flow, which contributes to reducing traffic congestion and improving the link between the main roads in Medina.
