Venezuela said that Washington’s confiscation of its plane in the Dominican Republic was “a rude theft” and described US Secretary of State Marco Rubio as a “thief.”
The Venezuelan Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that “the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela condemns the unanimous theft of the brand of the Venezuelan nation, which was made on the orders of US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.”

Washington’s confiscation of a Venezuela plane

“His hatred of Venezuela is now leading to a public crime, as he illegally confiscated a plane with collusion” with the Dominican Republic.
Rubio witnessed the procedures for confiscating a Venezuelan government plane on the runway of Santo Domingo Airport, which is the second confiscation of less than a year.
The US Secretary of State wrote on the “X” platform: “The confiscation of this Venezuelan plane, which is used to evade US sanctions and money laundering, is a strong example of our determination to hold accountable (President Nicholas) illegal regime accountable for his illegal actions.”

But the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry said that “this attack on Venezuela proves that Rubio is nothing more than a criminal in a political form, and he uses his position to plunder the origins of our country.”
“His hatred makes him an international criminal capable of violating any rule to harm our homeland. Marco Rubio will be recorded in history as it is: a thief and an advertiser and an advertiser to our people.”
She added: “Venezuela will take all the necessary measures to denounce this theft and demand that its planes be returned immediately.”
