المملكة: “Meteorology” launches a new system for monitoring climate activities in the Kingdom

Dr. Ayman Ghulam, CEO of the National Meteorological Center, supervised the plan to launch the meteorological system requirements, which aims to organize and control of the meteorological and climate activities in the Kingdom.
The new system includes a set of procedures, including the issuance of licenses and permits needed to carry out meteorology, and the application of penalties to violators.

The optimal use of climate data

During a meeting with the directors of the departments concerned with the center, Dr. Ghulam stressed the importance of the effective application of the new system, noting that it represents an important step towards strengthening the center’s role in organizing this vital sector.
He explained that the system aims to ensure optimal use of climate data, and to improve the quality of monitoring services and weather forecasts, in line with international standards.
The launch of this system comes within the framework of the efforts of the National Meteorological Center to enhance the governance of the meteorological sector and develop its services, in order to support the goals of the Saudi Vision 2030 in the areas of sustainability and climate.
